Law graduate's sexual harassment allegation: PIL says women can't be truthful
A PIL filed in the Supreme Court on a law graduate's sexual harassment allegation says women can't be truthful.

NEW DELHI: An advocate, who has filed several public interest litigations, on Saturday moved the Supreme Court seeking action against a website and The Times of India for publishing a law graduate's account that she was allegedly sexually harassed by a "recently retired judge".

The advocate, ML Sharma, in his criminal writ petition said the sole purpose of "this comment in block (blog), her interview in legal India (Legally India), publication by Times of India and written petition (sic) by the Attorney General for action within Vishaka judgment is only to create a discussion to tarnish image and goodwill of the Supreme Court, its judges and their reputation under allegations of sexual harassment of ladies as societies sensitive upon ladies sexual harassment and do not like to hear any truth if such allegation is there (sic)."

He added that he has "learnt through ancient books which has already disclosed and established several times that (a) lady never speak (the) truth. Even for a short benefit or for revenge for denial (of) her demand she can go up to any extent for revenge. No one can control her revenge/greed. Upon disclosure of truth she puts herself as a poor helpless in the world. All empires and fight happened due to her ego and greed (sic)."

Taking the name of the law graduate who had leveled the allegations, Sharma said she should be asked to provide evidence.

Chief Justice P Sathasivam had promptly set up a 3-judge panel comprising Justices R M Lodha, H L Dattu and Ranjana P Desai to inquire into the veracity of her statements. The panel has requested her to appear before it on Monday.

Sharma said: "The scenario is nothing more than a process to tarnish (the) credibility of the Supreme Court judges, which must be dealt carefully (sic) with further action against Times of India, block (blog) and legal India (Legally India) for publishing such defamatory interview."

"This court must take action and direction against such newspapers and web for publishing any such statement without having any evidence in hand. It is not court proceeding what has been published (sic)," he said.

Referring to the law graduate's allegation that the incident of sexual harassment happened in a hotel room, he said: "Hotel evidence must be called upon what she has whispered and if no such evidence is there than she, Times of India, block (blog) and legal India (Legally India) must be prosecuted for such defamatory action. Role of Attorney General also required to be considered within my apprehension (sic)".

  1. So now one can blame all the rapes on ancient bools. Is Drapudi Cheer Syndrome plays a part.
How does mother, wife and daughters feel about such statement.
Are there no ethics left ion our nation that we will demean our ancient books?
Will the capable person give names of those books???
Are we looking a typical cover up as a SC judge is involved and thus different laws for different people.

    1. I wonder how India can be considered a civilized nation when these so called "holy" books blatantly claim that "No Woman can be trusted". Then why call India as 'Mother India'. Are we saying the nation full of idiots cannot be trusted????
